Hello there hungry visitor!

My name is Giulia - but you can call me G.

If you have come this far, you are probably curious as to who I am and where my cooking wisdom comes from.

Well, let me start by stating the obvious: I have always loved cooking.

I remember so fondly watching my mum and grandma cook the most delicious food when I was a child.
It was real magic.

They weren’t doing anything particularly difficult - everything looked so simple and yet every time I tasted their creations, a burst of flavour would explode in my palate, and with it my passion for those meals that are prepared with simplicity and love.

I was raised in fancy hotels across the world due to my father’s job - he worked as a hotel director, which initially meant that every two years, as a family, we would follow him to all these different cities and countries.

When we finally moved to the Alps, where we lived for a decade and where I spent my teenage years, I had the opportunity to learn and absorb not only from our own hotel (where my mum was the chef and I was the little helper), but also from all the other hotels and restaurants I spent time working in every summer, every holiday…basically anytime I wasn’t going to school was spent working in hospitality and learning the craft of 5* service.

When I moved to London in 2009 to study Chinese at university, cooking remained a passion I nurtured behind the scenes with new influences from the fusion culture present in London and my experiences in Beijing and Shanghai.

So - why am I here now?

I cannot stand still. I cook all the time. And I love it.

What is missing in my path is the opportunity to give purpose to my passion for food and simplicity and share it with the world.
In whichever format this may be.

Stay tuned, dear friends - all I want is to share all the skills I’ve learnt, all the little tricks that will make your life easier in the kitchen, and all those dreamy Italian recipes our grandmas would be proud of.

Eat well, eat simple.

With Love,
G.
